FireHUD Advances to ACC InVenture Prize Finals

Student inventors from Georgia Tech, Boston College, Duke University, University of North Carolina and University of Virginia will compete in the ACC InVenture Prize finale.
The Atlantic Coast Conference InVenture Prize rewards student entrepreneurs with cash prizes for their innovations. Georgia Tech hosts the competition.

Keeping Firefighters Safe

FireHUD will represent Georgia Tech in the inaugural ACC InVenture Prize competition.
Zack Braun and Tyler Sisk invented FireHUD, a device to help keep firefighters safe. The heads-up-display system attaches to a firefighter’s mask and measures heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen level, the firefighter’s body temperature, and the external temperature. This information will help firefighters determine if they are overexerting themselves and putting their health at risk.The invention won first place in Georgia Tech’s InVenture Prize.
