About
CREATE-X Capstone is a special section of the undergraduate senior design course dedicated to entrepreneurial projects. In this section (ME4723-X/X01, CS4723-X/X01, ECE4853 X/LX, BME4723-X/X01, ISYE4106) interdisciplinary teams comprised of mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, industrial and systems engineering, and computer science students work on their startup product idea and explore whether there is a market demand and value proposition for them.
CREATE-X Capstone faculty provide a nurturing environment, mentorship, and financial support for the entrepreneurial teams, including relevant lectures catering to the needs of a startup. The course is led by Professor Craig Forest, Associate Director for MAKE, who has taught Capstone Design for six years.
As in the traditional Capstone course, students will follow the design process, produce reports and presentations, and earn Capstone Design course credit towards their degree.
The best team(s) from the CREATE-X Capstone section will automatically receive:
- Direct admission to CREATE-X Startup Launch, with funding
- Direct berth to the InVenture Prize Semi-Final Round (top 25 inventions out of 100+)
